Emergency Closure on Umpqua River
The next river to fall in the line of dominos crashing as the drought intensifies in the West is the Umpqua, in southern Oregon. Known for its steelhead runs, this river has been closed to angling through December of 2021, due to warm water temperatures and a dramatic drop in returning steelhead.
The announcement comes courtesy of the Native Fish Society, and you can get all the details here.
