Opinion: Does Catch and Release Work?

I’ve been sitting on this topic for a few weeks now, but I finally got all my thoughts put down into what I hope is a coherent manner.

The topic is catch and release fishing, and I’ve been curious if catch and release is all we need to do in order to do our part for conservation.
