- Brett Wedeking analyzes the recently released environmental impact statement for hatchery steelhead in Puget Sound. “Given the options laid out in the recent draft EIS, NOAA may opt for hatchery status quo, but officially doesn’t have an opinion, yet.” Public comment on the draft EIS is open through Dec. 28, 2015.
- Spencer Durrant reports that quick action by first responders helped mitigate “environmental catastrophe” on Utah’s Provo River, after a semi hauling two oil tankers crashed due to adverse road conditions and some of its contents made their way into the river. Read more via Orvis.
