RIO Products New Skagit Shooting Head Offerings Utilize ConnectCore Technology
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
October 1, 2013 (Idaho Falls, Idaho) – RIO Products, manufacturer of fly lines, leaders and tippet material, is thrilled to introduce three new additions to its Skagit Series of spey lines – Skagit Max, Max Short and iShort Shooting Heads.
RIO’s unique ConnectCore results in a fly line with only about six percent stretch as opposed to the standard 28-32 percent stretch. This ultra-low stretch makes a line much more dynamic to spey cast with helping anglers gain distance through more instinctive timing and better loading. It also enhances sensitivity to detect subtle takes, avoid snags when fishing deep and allows for fast, efficient hook sets.
The new Skagit Max Shooting Head is an easy-casting, ultra-powerful head that is ideal for casting big flies and heavy sink tips. The weight distribution deeply loads rods for long, powerful casts while the subtle taper design generates smooth, efficient loops. The Skagit Max is available from 425 grains through 750 grains in 25 grain increments and varies between 22 feet and 25 feet depending on the line size. The teal colored head features a hot orange rear loop that makes it easy for anglers to distinguish the rear end from the front end and is printed with all the head specifications.
Max Short heads are for anglers using shorter spey rods (sub 13 feet), switch rods or single-hand rods or when in tight casting situations. With all of the same features and color assets as the Skagit Max, the Max Short heads range between 17 feet and 20 feet in length and are available from 200 grains through 625 grains in 25 grain increments.
RIO’s Skagit iShort Shooting Head is a powerful intermediate head with a short floating back section that gives anglers deep, slow swings. It is designed for shorter spey rods (sub 13 feet), switch rods and single-handed rods and is targeted specifically to anglers casting large flies and fast sinking tips. The new iShort is available from 350 grains to 575 grains in 25 grain increments and varies between 18 feet and 21 feet in length depending on the size. The iShort has a clear camo intermediate section that is seamlessly integrated in to a pale orange floating section.
All these new Skagit heads have a MSRP of $54.95.
