Redington Redesigns Wading Boots With Style and Function
July 8, 2013 (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) – Who ever said fly fishing wading boots had to look ugly? Next spring Redington will introduce a new line of wading boots that combine form and function.
The new Redington wading boots include three options for men, one for women and one for youth. Both the men’s and women’s models are available in sticky rubber with crushed walnut shells or felt sole options, and both versions have the option to add studs. The Ruckus Youth boot comes in sticky walnut rubber only and is also stud compatible. Anglers will also celebrate in the added stability the expanded sole width provides. In addition, Redington is partnering with Goat Head Gear to distribute its Sole Spikes. The spikes will be co-branded with Redington and recommended for use in its full line of new wading boots.
Heavy-duty, non-corrosive speed laces and eyelets make getting the boots on and off quickly a breeze and the five-colored lace options allow anglers to customize their boots. A dense-weave, high-count nylon adds durability while the internal molded heel and toe counters and EVA midsole insert provide rigidity for all-day comfort.
The Men’s Elite Prowler combines all of these features but adds molded rubber overlays and a reinforced toe box for durability, a synthetic cork midsole with molded polyurethane adds comfort without added weight, and double needle stitches mean years of reliable use. A custom embossed graphic treatment adds a hint of style and attitude. Available in whole sizes from nine through 13, both sole options will retail for $159.95 in February 2014.
The Men’s Super Prowler comes in a bit lighter than the Elite Prowler for those wanting a boot for packing in to a favorite fishing hole. These boots have all the features of the Elite Prowler except the reinforced toe box and the cork midsole. The Men’s Super Prowler will retail for $139.95 in both sole options. Anglers can find them at retail in February 2014.
The Men’s Prowler are a value-oriented wading boot option, offering function and durability an attractive $99.95, price. Also available February 2014.
The Women’s Siren Wading Boot is a stylish, sleek boot that will protect feet while wading and ensure anglers stay upright. Available in size six through 10, both sole options will retail for $139.95 in February 2014.
More and more kids are fishing these days and a good, sturdy wading boot is a must. That’s where Redington’s Ruckus Youth comes in. Built with all the quality of the adult boots yet at a fraction of the size and the price, the Ruckus Youth will retail for $89.95 so outgrowing them won’t hurt. Available in sizes 2, 4 and 6, these boots will also be available in February.
