New Rods From Winston for 2013

From Twin Bridges, Montana, the Winston Fly Rod Company has announced two new rod series for 2013. The Boron III-SX series are a “super fast” action line of rods that are designed for line speed and lifting, making them the best match for windy conditions. And the fast action GVX-Select Rod series has a progressive taper similar to the high performance series, but is instead made from 100% graphite, designed for effortless casts and affordability. Look for both to be released this fall.

Boron III-SX Rods – coming this fall

This fall, Winston will change the fast action fly rod category. Unprecedented power with unbelievable feel. Winston’s newest and fastest action rods, their new Boron III-SX rod series, utilize Winston’s latest generation Boron III materials and designs to provide unprecedented power, added line speed and extraordinary line-lifting capabilities…all with the wonderful smooth “feel” you expect from a Winston.

Boron III: Newest generation Boron III materials/design

SX stands for “Super” fast action. Significantly more power and strength than the MX and IIIx rods.

Line carrying/lifting capabilities: These new rods have been specially designed to handle regular WF lines and the heavier style lines now available (Clouser, Magnum, Royal Wulff, etc. in particularly windy conditions. These rods pick up more line off the water and handle the wind better than any fly rods we have ever seen.

Beauty: These new rods have beautiful new silver trim wraps around the logo, differentiating them from all our other rods. Available in our trademark deep Winston green but with new matte black guides to match our new matte black anodized aluminum reel seats, each engraved with “R.L. Winston Rod Co”., Boron III-SX rods are easily distinguished as the most beautiful rods on the rack.
