Fly Fishing Tip: Nymphing Stained Water
“In this video, I’m going to share why I look forward to Fly Fishing Stained Water. Rather than, telling you, I’m going to show you. I’ll compare two different days in the exact locations. One day with clear water and the other after a rain event that stained the water. The results speak for themselves. Gin clear water usually means trout are going to hold closer to structure, less willing to move far to feed and generally more spooky…resulting in tough conditions. But when the stream gets a little stain the trout get a little more comfortable and become more aggressive. The result can be great fishing, whether you want to nymph or throw streamers (I do both) don’t let stained water keep you from the water!”
