Nick Vlahos
Nick was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, then lived in Texas and Georgia before moving back to attend LSU where he studied geography and geology. He started fly fishing in middle school, chasing wild trout in the north Georgia mountains and transitioned to saltwater angling during his college days. When his family moved to Destin, in Florida’s panhandle, the exposure to so many different bodies of water helped expand his knowledge and his passion for fly tying and developing effective new patterns grew exponentially. Nick now ties commercially for Sandbar Flies LLC, his own business. His patterns are also available through Fulling Mill and sold in fly shops around the globe.
