Tying Poly Wing and Snowshoe Rusty Spinners
Tim Flager and Matt Grobert take turns demonstrating their versions of the Rusty Spinner. Flager’s video offers excellent advice on thread techniques for tying the split tail and straight poly wings. Meanwhile Grobert, who prefers natural wing materials, doesn’t use any floatant on his finished product, but does treat the fly with Frog Fanny dry fly powder once it begins to lose buoyancy.
As Flager says, “There are so many ways to tie the rusty spinner, but the most important part is having confidence in the pattern you choose to tie.”
