Women in Fly Fishing

Women have become the fastest growing demographic in the sport of fly fishing. A recent article by John Clarke in The New York Times highlights women’s experience in the male-dominated sport, examines difficulties and strengths, and looks to programs such as a new initiative led by Orvis, in partnership with Simms, Costa and Yeti, which has among its objectives “the goal of an even gender split in fly-fishing by 2020.”
