Graphite Rods: Behind the Scenes
The making of a graphite rod blank is a more complicated and expensive process than you would think, explains Tim Romano on Field & Stream, after touring the Orvis rod factory and seeing $100K worth of graphite in a freezer. As Romano writes, it will give you a “much greater appreciation for how fly rods are built and why they can be pretty darn expensive.”
