International Didymo Conference and Angler Survey
Hosted by the Invasive Species Action Network and Northeast Panel on Aquatic Nuisance Species, the International Didymo Conference will take place March 12-13, 2013 in Providence, Rhode Island. Focused on bringing together natural resource managers, researchers, conservationists, and anglers, in sharing information and experiences about dealing with this invasive alga, conference organizers have put out a call for papers ranging on topics from biology to distribution and detection, management to outreach.
Also, they are asking for angler feedback “to insure that this conference provides as many answers as possible to those who are most impacted by didymo” in an online survey. Please take the time to do so, for only with new research in understanding and controlling this invasive species, is protection of our rivers possible.
