Writer Spotlight: Cameron Scott
As a participant in Fishtrap’s writer-in-residence program, Cameron Scott asked his students: “How many of you have ever fished? How many have fly fished? How many have fished for steelhead?” After a few hands were raised, Scott cut to the chase. “Good. Let’s write about steelhead fishing.”
His interaction with students is a fair portrayal of Scott who describes his loves as “fish and writing first” and “writing about fishing” third. With publications in The Drake and The Fly Fish Journal (among other publications) and more than a few years of guiding under his belt, it is fair to say that Scott is doing what he loves.
