Tippets: “Tarpon Master” App, Upgraded Wisconsin Streams, Semi-Sober Fly Shop Ski Bums, North Carolina Enhancements
- The Bonefish & Tarpon Trust has created an app that will serve as a fishing log for tarpon fishermen. The Tarpon Master App allows the angler to capture length, girth, weight, location, DNA sample, fly used and photos.
- Eleven Wisconsin streams have been upgraded from class III streams to class II streams. Scientists found evidence of brown trout reproduction which led to the upgrade.
- Marian Lyman Krist writes about ski bums doubling as fly shop employees because “it keeps them semi-sober and employed until ski season starts.”
- As a result of receiving federal licensing for a hydro electric project in North Carolina, Duke Energy will implement enhancements in the area including increased minimum flows in two local trout rivers: the Nantahala and Tuckasegee Rivers.
