- Fly fishing experts Skip Morris and Rick Hafele will host a two day workshop in Issaquah, WA on February 25 & 26. “Mastering Western Rivers and Lakes” will cover all forms of insect life on rivers, streams and lakes.
- Chuck Furimsky, CEO and director of The Fly Fishing Show, was an out-of-work teacher when he opened an outdoor shop that became the venue for the first fly fishing show. The show celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.
- Scottish salmon producer Scottish Sea Farms has donated £50,000 to a trust that will enable researchers to use the technology cultivated by the aquaculture industry to the benefit of wild fish stocks.
- Pueblo, CO and Trout Unlimited are joining together to apply for a grant through Fishing is Fun for a restoration project on the Arkansas River.
