How is a Fiberglass Blank Made?

Fiberglass aficionado Cameron Mortenson shares a step by step, complete with pictures, of the fiberglass rod making process on his blog The Fiberglass Manifesto.

While many hobbyists are content buying a blank, some prefer to make the blank as well.  But when it comes to fiberglass blanks, unless one is willing to make a significant investment in equipment, it is probably prudent to let the experts handle that step.  One such expert, Mike McFarland of McFarland rods, whose pictures are used in the explanation, turns out quite an impressive looking rod.
