Redington’s New Delta Reels
Delta Reel
Redington is releasing a new, fully machined reel called the Delta for 2011. This reel is meant for the fly angler who needs serious stopping power and performance features at a reasonable price.
Redington reel engineer Paul Schmierer said, “this reel went through a series of lab and field tests to ensure that it was designed and manufactured to take a beating yet still perform under all fishing conditions. We are happy with the upgrades this reel has over the previous model, especially in the weight and strength categories.”
With a new fully machined 6061-T6 aluminium design, the Delta is made to fish a wide spectrum of fish species. The large-arbor design allows for faster retrieves while the new drag knob with its larger diameter allows you to easily grip and fine-tune the drag. The new spool release mechanism also makes it simple to change and remove spools. With the spool removed, you”ll find a cork and Teflon disc drag system with a one-way clutch bearing. This combo creates a very smooth and immediate drag engagement. The Delta reel is available in a 5/6 line weight (6.2 ounces) for $199.95, a 7/8 line weight (7.7 ounces) for $219.95, a 9/10 line weight (8.2 ounces) for $239.95, and a 11/12 line weight (9.0 ounces) for $259.95. Each Delta reel comes in smoke grey with a nylon reel bag.
