Ernest Schwiebert Dies
Ernest Schwiebert, author of several important books in including the Nymphs, Matching the Hatch
, and the magnum opus Trout
, and on one of the most influential writers in modern fly fishing, passed away yesterday morning. Schwiebert is widely credited with popularizing the phrase ‘matching the hatch’ in the mid-1950s and reportedly was nearing completion of his rewrite of Nymphs, due to be published next year by Lyons Press.
