Quick Tip: Pluck your Leader Like a Guitar to Remove Debris

TROUT magazine editor Kirk Deeter gives us a super simple trick to remove any type of algae, weeds, or any other plant life your fly might have picked up while drifting in the water column. Not only does it remove debris from your fly much faster, it also saves your bug for the long haul by not ripping out materials, which can happen when you perform this with hemostats or fingers.

    Kirk, You also need to show folks how to do the same with the terminal fly by hooking the fly over a “U” in some heavier leader and doing the same thing!
