Thomas & Thomas Announce LPS II Series of Light Presentation Trout Rods

Greenfield, MA – October 1st, 2012.  USA fly rod maker, Thomas & Thomas is pleased to announce the launch of its LPS II series of medium action trout rods.

LPS denotes Light Presentation Series and these new rods represent a long awaited ‘four-piece’ evolution from the famous Thomas & Thomas LPS series which was only ever made available in two and three-piece configurations. Initially, the LPS II is comprised of four, four-piece models, 864-4, 865-4, 904-4, 905-4 with prices starting at $750 and are available for order at fly shops and online at www.thomasandthomas.com.

The LPS II is a medium action trout rod designed specifically for the challenges of highly technical trout fisheries where stealth and delicacy are the order of the day. Wherever wary trout rise in smooth, glassy water you will find the conditions for this rod series to excel. Designed to handle long leaders and accurately deliver dry flies at all distances, the LPS II provides the ultimate experience in feel and control. Sensitivity in the upper sections of the LPS II makes it an adaptable tool, perfectly able to make the transition to small nymphs or streamers when conditions dictate.

The LPS II is handsomely adorned with snake brand black-nickel guides, black wraps and olive edging, a new lightweight, milled-aluminum black anodized, up-locking reel seat with beautiful tiger maple spacer complemented by a western cork grip. The LPS II is a rod that perfectly embodies the craftsmanship, refined aesthetics and subtle feel, long associated with Thomas & Thomas.

Commenting on the new LPS II series Mark Richens said, “At last, the properties of the latest generation of graphites and resins have enabled us to replicate the exquisite actions of the original light presentation series – in a lighter, slimmer, four-piece for ease of travel. These rods feel incredible in the hand and will cushion the lightest of tippet.

We receive a lot of questions at T&T on a lot of different fly fishing related matters. Right up there at the top of the list is – when are you going to build a four-piece LPS? We’re excited to be able to reply – we’re building them right now. The LPS II is going to thrill existing T&T fans and allow us to continue to nurture new ones.”
