In New Orleans, Fall Redfishing Heats Up

With cooler temps, cloudless days and clearer water, fall begins the best season to sight-cast for redfish, says retired Marine colonel and guide Rich Waldner.  “When I see those big reds lit up in the water like Budweiser signs, I know life can’t get any better!”  Waldner, who has been guiding since 1997, offers tips on rod weights, lines, backing, leaders and flies.
