“The extra chunkyness added to this fly makes it float longer and higher. You could use a tungsten jigged leech or bugger as the dropper for this bad boy. I tied this up more of the traditional way that Chubby Chernobyls are tied. Starting at the hook eye and ribbing foam down the shank of the hook and then dubbing the body as you work your way back up to the eye. I still prefer the other method (https://youtu.be/uJGL3oGhHGo), but I also made this one a little bit difficult with the super stiff foam and the deer belly hair wing. This isn’t a color I would typically fish, but wanted to integrate the Loco Foam for fun and make it look intimidating to the fish. Tie some up in the color schemes that you traditionally would fish and see how it just simply floats.”
