“To open Series 4 of Pure Fly NZ New Zealand’s favourite fly fishing TV show, we are travelling to McKenzie Country in the heart of the South Island on a quest for some giant rainbow trout.

Our two anglers this week are Charles Smith, a specialist in catching big trout & Pure Fly regular Anto Hall. As luck would have it Fish & Game NZ decided to experiment by opening up the Upper Ohau River to fly fishing on the 1st September, 8 weeks earlier than traditional high country opening. The boys decided this would be the perfect opportunity to give it a crack.
