Attaching Fly Fishing Leader to Line With a Nail Knot
A demonstration of how to use a speedy nail knot to connect a butt section or the butt end of your leader to your fly line. The speedy nail knot was invented by Lefty Kreh and can be used for a variety of purposes including something that is rarely done anymore: snelling a hook. All it requires is a stiff piece of metal (a straightened paper clip works great, an actual nail is a little harder) and a good grip on both ends of the butt material to ensure the knot is well-seated when finished.
