IGFA Certifies 26-Pound Landlocked Salmon Record
On Monday the International Game Fish Association certified Tom Aufiero’s fly-caught 26-pound, 12-ounce landlocked Atlantic Salmon as the new All-Tackle record. Guided by Matt Supinski, owner of the Gray Drake Lodge on the Muskegon River, Aufiero caught the fish in October after stalking it along the shorelines of Torch Lake. The best parts of the story: guide and angler got to sight-cast to the fish, and they opted to release it. Howard Meyerson tells the story in the Grand Rapids Press.
