Idaho Eases Motor Restrictions on Henry's Fork
Idaho’s Fremont County commissioners approved new, relaxed regulation of motorized vessels on the Henry’s Fork, despite mounting protest from fly fishers and environmentalists over the likely impact on fish and resources.
“Despite dozens of letters and public testimony at hearings prior to Dec. 30, the BOCC advanced the revised ordinance in a sparsely attended Christmas week hearing that ignores the voices of the fly fishing community, river conservationists, and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG). Many Island Park were unable to attend because they were snowed in and the driving conditions were dangerous.” Elizabeth Laden in the Island Park News.
