TU welcomes new members to its board of trustees
From TU:
Trout Unlimited welcomed three new members to its board of trustees at its annual meeting in Scranton over the weekend. The new board members bring a mix of conservation expertise, fishing industry acumen, business management experience and a passion for TU’s long-time mission of protecting and restoring North America’s trout and salmon, and the waters they call home.
The new board members are:
Patsy Ishiyama of San Francisco, Calif. Ishiyama is the part owner of Henry’s Fork Lodge in Island Park, Idaho, and an active board member for the Ishiyama Foundation, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. Ishiyama is a former board member, and co-chair of Trout Unlimited’s CAST Campaign in support of the organization’s most recent five-year strategic plan.
Steve Moss of Larchmont, N.Y. Moss has been a TU member since 1998 and he has served on the board of TU’s Coldwater Conservation Fund since 2000, most recently as the chairman. Moss is the managing director and deputy head of the Industrials Investments Banking Group at Wells Fargo Securities based in New York. Prior to this, he worked at both Merrill Lynch and Salomon Brothers. He earned his BA from Dartmouth College in 1985 and his MBA from The Amos Tuck School of Business Administration in 1989.
K.C. Walsh of Bozeman, Mont. Walsh is a lifelong angler and has been the president of Simms Fishing Products since 1993. Prior to directing Simms—a Trout Unlimited corporate partner—Walsh worked as a management consultant with Deloitte and Touche, and previously held senior management positions in a major independent oil company. Walsh earned his BA from Colorado College and his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has served on the board of directors of the American Sportfishing Association since 2010, and on the executive committee of the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation. He’s also served as the chairman of the American Fly Fishing Trade Association and is a former director on TU’s national board of trustees.
“These three very talented individuals bring years of crucial experience in the fishing and business arenas to our organization,” said Chris Wood, TU’s president and CEO. “We’re grateful to have each of them serving on our very gifted board of trustees—we’ll be counting on them a great deal as we move into the next era of coldwater fisheries conservation.”
Trout Unlimited is the nation’s oldest and largest coldwater fisheries conservation organization dedicated to conserving, protecting and restoring North America’s trout and salmon and their watersheds. Follow TU on Facebook and Twitter, and visit us online at tu.org.
