AFFTA Announces Reno, Nevada as Site for 2012 Show
IFTD heads back west after a hot time in the Big Easy.
New Orleans, LA. – Current AFFTA Chairman Jim Klug of Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures made the announcement this evening that AFFTA has selected Reno, Nevada as the site for next year’s IFTD show. The show will be held at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center August 16-18, 2012.
“The AFFTA board has several goals in selecting annual show venues. After making the decision to move the show from Denver to New Orleans for 2011, we wanted to continue to focus on new locations that make sense for our members and our organization,” said Klug. “New Orleans was a blast and we want to keep that fun energy as part of our future shows.”
AFFTA had surveyed its members and a number of cities were under consideration. There was clear interest in returning the show to the west. AFFTA President Randi Swisher presented the AFFTA Board with a variety of options with Reno being the most attractive because of location and cost.
“We wanted to put on the best show possible and make it both affordable and enjoyable for everyone”, said Swisher. “We have an excellent package for the 2012 show, including a $99 hotel rate, great amenities, a state of the art convention center, and an environment that will once again provide for a ton of networking opportunities.
