Final EPA Report on Bristol Bay
The final report from The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regarding the environmental impacts the proposed pebble mine would have on the Bristol Bay ecosystem has been released to the public. “Our report concludes that large-scale mining poses risks to salmon and the tribal communities that have depended on them for thousands of years,” says EPA regional administrator Dennis McLerran in The Washington Post. And in a statement released from Trout Unlimited, president and CEO Chris Wood calls on the EPA “to immediately protect Bristol Bay from destructive mining.”
