Umpqua Continues the Most Successful Fly-Fishing Packs and Bags Launch with the Addition of Two New Vests

Louisville, CO – “Everything you need and nothing you don’t.”

Following up on what may consider to be the most successful packs and bags launch in fly-fishing’s history, Umpqua Feather Mercahnts is continuing the evolution of its packs and bags line with two new innovative products – the Toketee Vest and the Swiftwater Tech Vest, both of which are slated to be available in November of 2013.

“When we first started looking at fishing vest, we were shocked that it wasn’t really a game about innovation; it was a contest to see who could put the most pockets on a vest. That approach simply wouldn’t work for us…we wanted a vest with everything you need and nothing you don’t.” said Jeff Fryhover, Umpqua President & CEO

The Toketee Vest (available in Slate Gray and Moss Green, SRP $159.99) may just be the essential fly fishing vest with its smart and streamlined features. The fully cushioned shoulder straps and a supportive back panel eliminate neck fatigue, while its front buckle and mesh back/side panels keep anglers cool during the summer months. Eleven pockets combine to give any angler ample storage — all boxes and accessories are readily accessible via unique cross-body pocket orientation. Inside the external pockets are six internal stretch-mesh accessory pockets including four horizontal cross access floatant/desiccant pockets. The vest’s eight coated web attachment loops/retractor stations, including two easy-grab hemo loops with raised retainer sheaths, allow for logical and secure access to those essential accessories and tools. The Toketee also features two molded barbless fly rigging stations, tricot-lined hand pockets, YKK zippers with loop primary pulls and sticky, micro-tectured secondary pulls, back D-ring and web loops for net attachment, and one-size fits all shoulder and torso adjustment. The Toketee also integrates with the Umpqua Surveyor 1100 Backpack to accommodate those backcountry treks.

The Swiftwater Tech Vest (available in Slate Gray and Moss Green, SRP $179.99) carries a load like no other vest. Neck fatigue and forward creep are alleviated through its fully cushioned neck straps and waist belt. It also features mesh back/side panels and a front buckle for ventilation when desired. Swiftwater’s fourteen pockets include a large “reach-around” back pocket, two other large back mesh pockets and two stretch mesh tippet pockets. The vest has six internal stretch mesh accessory pockets – four of which are jorizontal, cross-access floatant/desiccant pockets – and eight coated web attachment stations (including the two easy-grab hemo loops with raised retainer sheaths). The Swiftwater boasts two molded barbless fly rigging stations, tricot-lined hand pockets, YKK zippers ith loop primary pulls and sticky, micro-textured secondary pulls, back D-ring and web loops for net attachment, and one-size fits all shoulder and torso adjustment. Like the Toketee, the Swiftwater integrates with the Umpqua Surveyor 1100 Backpack to give the angler everything he or she needs for serious expeditions.

As with the initial class of Umpqua packs and bags, Umpqua went beyond its own four walls to bring these two innovative additions to the market. In collaborating with the angling experts from around the globe, some of the outdoor industry’s elite designers, and premiere manufacturers, Umpqua’s internal product design team has developed and launched what should be the solid extension of the most impressive and well-received packs and bags launch the fly0fishing industry has ever witnessed.
