Certified to Sew
The past year has been an amazing ride for Vedavoo – the support of our brand and the excitement about our gear is everything I ever dreamed of when I began building packs in my garage. As we continue to grow, we look for new ways to further support our workshop while staying true to what got us to where we are today. We are proud to announce Vedavoo Certified to Sew.
We are going to continue to build packs the old fashioned way right here in the USA. The Certified to Sew team will consist of a group of local seamstresses who will help build our gear and support our workshop going forward. Unfortunately, in the United States we have seen large number of factories go out of business as outsourcing continues to grow. This has left a considerable number of skilled men and women unable to find work in the trade that they know best. We want to help these individuals put their skills to task by helping us build our high quality bags and packs. We also realize that in life, not everyone has the ability to get a traditional 9-5. The Certified to Sew team members will have the ability to work from home, take care of their families, and earn an income on their time.
Vedavoo Certified to Sew will consist of three tiers – tier 1: components and small gear management; tier 2: mid-size gear management and packs; tier 3: core Vedavoo bags and packs. To advance to the next level, the team member will complete a training to show she / he has mastered the next tier up. By building our packs in this manner we will ensure that every item we ship lives up to our quality standards. We realize that this isn’t the norm, but we take a great deal of pride in our work and this is who we are – a craft company.
We couldn’t be more excited to take these next steps as we continue to tell our story.
Cheers,
Scott
