Coasters: No Such Thing?
Jason Tucker of Fontinalis Rising writes a well documented piece on why the catch limit in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula should not be raised, as well as digs into the mystery surrounding Coasters, the said-to-be-endangered Lake Superior dwelling brook trout whose existence is surrounded by a mythology all its own. Are they a unique genetic strain, subspecies, or phenomena? Furthermore, does anyone really know? Do they even exist, or don’t they? As Tucker finds out, the true answer is a little of both.
