Kevin Howell, second-generation owner of Davidson River Outfitters, much like many others was trained in a discipline unrelated to fly fishing (in his case engineering).  But the guy does not seem to regret settling into his native Brevard, North Carolina to run the shop and teach new anglers the tricks of the trade.
