Tippets: Asheville Tie-a-Thon, Do-It-Yourself Bamboo, 400 Steelhead Donated
- Southern Culture on the Fly, Hunter Banks Fly Shop, and The Fiberglass Manifesto are hosting a fly tie-a-thon in Asheville Sunday, February 26th. The event will benefit Project Healing Waters.
- When Minnesota angler Phil Johnson was shopping for a bamboo rod recently, he realized the price tag would seriously limit his options so he decided to build one himself.
- About 400 hatchery steelhead from Oregon’s Cole River Hatchery will be donated to the Oregon Food Bank. The fish cannot be released for fears that they will reproduce with wild steelhead and it is not legal to sell the fish from the hatchery.
