Shy Trout Grow the Fastest

Here’s yet another clue to the puzzle of why the largest trout are such selective eaters — and so difficult to catch. Scientists from the Department of Zoology at the University of Gothenburg say that brown trout, like people, seem to be born with varying levels of shyness. Surprisingly, the trout that are first to the food in the tank aren’t usually the winners in nature.
