Missouri May Ban Felt-Soled Wading Boots
The Missouri Department of Conservation could soon join Vermont, Alaska, Maryland, New York and other states who are considering or have already adopted a ban on felt soles, according to John McLaughlin of the Missourian. McLaughlin also hints that Bass Pro might consider dropping felt-soled boots and waders from its lineup.
“‘The threat of the alga, according to the Conservation Department’s website, is it ‘can overwhelm native species and disrupt the food chain,’ which supports fish, such as bass and trout, as well as salamanders, frogs, birds and mammals.”
