Oprah in "Fly Fishing Jeans"

We can’t expect clothes designers or diva-obsessed paparazzi to know everything about fly fishing, but seeing them call waders “fly fishing jeans” is beyond the pale. Apparently Oprah Winfrey couldn’t escape the press as she took her first fly fishing vacation in Yosemite National Park last week.

Oprah filmed her camping/fishing trip for a show segment to be aired later this month. Given that whatever Oprah touches seems to turn to gold, the show — which airs October 29 — may be the best endorsement fly fishing’s had a long while.
