Simms 2011 Fly Fishing Apparel
Simms Delivers Diverse 2011 Apparel Line
Simms, the only manufacturer of GORE-TEX® waders in the U.S., will be adding new GORE-TEX footwear to their lines in 2011. The three new footwear pieces are the Pursuit GORE-TEX Shoe Mid ($169.95) and Low ($149.95), a hiking and adventure sport shoe, and the Harbor GORE-TEX Shoe ($159.95), designed for comfort both on and off the water. All three shoes feature GORE-TEX membrane, non-marking Vibram® outsoles and OrthoLite® memory foam sock liners.
Simms will also expand their sportswear line. Highlights include the new Rogue fleece hoody (available in Coal and the new Simms camo, $89.95) and shirts for men and women featuring Cocona® fabric, a sustainable technology utilizing recycled coconut shells in the fabric. Cocona sportswear is designed to offer the ultimate in evaporative cooling, odor management and UV protection without chemical treatments. The men’s Cocona Crewneck and Polo and the women’s Cocona Henley Shirt are priced at $59.95.
Women’s styles are also getting more attention in 2011. New items include five styles of shirts (including one with No Fly Zone™ insect-repellent technology), two styles of pants (one with No Fly Zone™), and a new GORE-TEX Soft Shell Women’s Guide jacket (in Gunmetal, $299.95).
In sun-protective clothing designed for warm weather anglers, additions and updates include surf shorts, Solarflex™ shirts ($34.95-$49.95), the lightweight water-resistant Runabout Shell ($79.95), a SunGaiter ($24.95), and an interesting new SunSleeve™ ($19.95) — a sleeve meant to be worn with short sleeve apparel for extra sun protection on the arms and hands.
Also new for 2011 are the “incredibly packable” WINDSTOPPER® Transit Jacket ($179.95) and Vest ($139.95). More updated outerwear products include the tried-and-true Guide Jacket ($299.95), and new colors in the award-winning G4 Pro Jacket ($479.95).
