Podcast: Dave Perkins on Nymphing Tactics
Tom Rosenbauer’s latest podcast includes a discussion with Orvis’s Dave Perkins about nymphing tactics, focusing on indicators, weights, long-line techniques and mending.
“A brief introduction to fishing with indicators: Those of us who’ve been fishing more than 30 years remember the days when there weren’t really any strike indicators — or at least we didn’t know about them. The strike indicator was — as far as we know — invented by Edward Hewitt in the 1930s. He used to put little pieces of floss on his leader knots to watch the progress of his nymph and look for strikes.”
