First-Time Tie Wins PA Fly Tying Championship
Mark DeFrank won the Pennsylvania State Fly Tying Championship last week by a tying a fly he had never tried before: the Henryville Special, a classic adult caddis pattern. “‘They give you the recipe and materials, but how it looks is up to you. Working with the duck quill wing was the hardest part. The quills pull apart real easy when you work with them. You have to be careful.'” John Hays in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
