Field & Stream Launches Redesigned Web Site
The venerable Field & Stream has put their newly redesigned Web site up, and it’s great improvement over previous versions. One of the big challenges facing magazine publishers is having to rethink their content taxonomy for the Web, and few get it right. The new F&S site puts their information several clicks closer to the user and puts a social-media wrapper around the whole shooting match (pun intended). And now you can finally find John Merwin and the FlyTalk blog without having to decipher nonsensical URLs. While I have my doubts about the role of social media in information delivery, I hope F&S keeps their electronic focus. They own a library of knowledge that has permanent value to outdoors sports and do good things for everyone when they invest in making it more available.
