Miramichi Atlantic Salmon Numbers Up
The number of Atlantic salmon in the Miramichi this summer was up 60% from the 2001 low, according to this article by Fred LeBrun in the Albany, New York, Times-Union. “The good news, prompting cautious optimism, is since 2001 salmon numbers have slowly come back. While July’s splendid fishing on the Miramichi was due to a greater number of spawners returning than in recent years, lots of rain and a full river also contributed.”
