Selling America’s Public Lands?

Utah Representative Jason Chaffetz’s bill H.R. 2657, known as The Disposal of Excess Federal Lands Law of 2013, would sell off 3.3 million acres of public lands. Hal Herring lays out downsides of such action clearly, along with the history of public-to-private land ownership, writing “Only we can decide whether that system will endure, if the freedom it provides is enough to fight for it.” Via Field & Stream.
