How to Tie an Isonychia Spinner
Matt Grobert ties a great late-summer-evening and fall pattern, the Isonychia Spinner. Grobert uses a size 12 Dai-Riki dry fly hook and 3/0 brown Danville thread.
Part of the fun of fishing the Isonychia (also known as a Slate Drake) Spinner is that it is a large bug and can attract aggressive takes. Look for returning Isonychia spinners over riffled portions of a stream.
