How to Fly Fish for Redfish in Southeast Louisiana: Leader, Rod, Reel, Line and Flies

Producer: Drew LooknFishy

“In this video, I’ll discuss how to fly fish for redfish in southeast Louisiana – leader, rod, reel, line and flies! There’s not much as exciting as fly fishing for redfish in southeast Louisiana. This trip, I found myself in the marsh with near perfect sight fishing conditions. One flat was staked with big redfish and another held giant black drum. Sneaking around dropping flies from a kayak to cruising and tailing redfish is too much fun. It’s hard to explain how exciting sight fishing redfish is but I hope this video shows why I start checking the weather daily when October rolls around. All I need is 2 or 3 days of high sun and low winds and I head south and pole the flats looking for shadows! Look for more redfish videos as the season starts for me. Including tips and tactics and things I look for when I’m in the marsh.

I walk through my gear, leader and some productive flies near the end of the video.”
