Artist Philippe Giroux

Philippe Giroux is a self-taught artist living in Matane, Gaspesie, Canada.  Drawing, graphics, painting, furniture painting, specialized painting and murals will have quietly led him to the acrylic painting on canvas in a realistic style.  Giroux has practiced fly fishing for 25 years.  He loves to paint the impulses and the moods of the waters. The Gaspesian rivers are ideal for their crystal clear waters that reveal the sandy bottoms and rocky areas where salmon sojourn. In his art Giroux emphasizes the transparency, the luminosity, the movements, the currents, the thrills, and the reflections that tinge the surface of the water.  Philippe is also a portrait painter and a muralist.
