Colorado’s Front Range Trout Hurt by Flood Repair
Floods devastated the Front Range of Colorado in the fall of 2013. Now, one year later, roads have been repaired but the reality of what the infrastructure has done to trout habitat and populations is stark, with many trout relocating themselves to places where they can survive. “Ultimately, the fate of the two rivers was torn between the needs of humans and the needs of fish and nature,” writes Ryan Maye Handy. “In the year after the flood, humans — their homes, sewage lines and roads — won.” Via The Coloradoan.
