Tippets: Buff Gear, Tarpon and Tenkara, Growth in the Green River
- Buffs, a fisherman’s best friend on the flats, have been chosen as the second top product pick of the past ten years by The Gear Junky.
- In an undisclosed jungle locale, Tim Romano, Oliver White, and Kirk Deeter play tarpon on a tenkara rod, landing over 50. And the tenkara rod, says Deeter, “may just be the ideal set up.”
- Hatches have been far greater than normal, and electro-shock studies have revealed positive growth in trout populations in Utah’s Green River below Flaming Gorge Dam. Both are being attributed to last year’s record snowfall in the mountain west, which flushed and reinvigorated the watershed.
