Tippets: BTT Trips, New PA Fishing App, Food Industry Speaks Out for Bristol Bay, NW Fly-Fishing Gear Swap
- The Bonefish & Tarpon Trust has listed upcoming trips and events that benefit the nonprofit. From Belize to the Bahamas, most of the trips entail catching and tagging permit and bonefish and are open to all anglers.
- Gogal Publishing Company of Warrington, Pa has created an app for Pennsylvania anglers that includes almost 5,000 searchable fishing destinations with driving directions. “Fish PA”, is available for the iPhone, iPad, and Android. The “GPS Fishing Guide to Pennsylvania” app is available for Garmin GPS units.
- The Food Marketing Institute (FMI) has spoken out on behalf of the Bristol Bay Fishery because it is “one of the world’s largest sustainable salmon fisheries.” FMI represents 26,000 retail food stores and $680 billion in annual revenue – three-quarters of US retail food store sales.
- Northwest Fly Fishers will put on the second annual Gear Swap and Garage Sale on March 31, 2012. Anglers can either vend or come buy the Troutdale, Oregon event.
