Tippets: Crow Indian Students Learn to Fly Fish, Fishing in a Crowded Boat
- Ann Marie Emery of the Bighorn River Alliance recently organized a day to teach Crow Indian students how to fly fish. Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, joined in the day to teach students the tenkara technique. “These kids see people fishing on the river, spending all this money, and we want them to know it’s their river too,” says Emery. “We want them to know they can fish here and not for much money.” Via The Billings Gazette.
- Ben Duchesney writes a how-to with tips for fly fishing in a crowded boat. “Instead of spending the whole day worrying about hooks flying everywhere and giving you a new piercing,” he writes, “there are a few tricks that will help you make it out unscathed (at least mostly).” Read them via Postfly Box.
